After the longest four weeks of my life waiting for the results i haven’t slept for last two nights I saw the consultant today who confirmed I had a low grade superficial tumor which had been fully removed he explained the chances of it returning and that I will be under their surveillance program ,cystoscopy every three months for first year then hopefully once a year after that I am so grateful to all of you for the support ,advice and care as we move forward with our various journey with this disease

     Best wishes Nigel

  • Hi liza25 thanks they have been fantastic I can’t fault the care I have received over the years

    best wishes nigel

  • Hi Mut64, thats great news. I had the same diagnosis as you. I had it removed at beginning of April, and had my 3 month check up beginning of July. It was clear and I feel so so grateful and thankful. I have been told I have another check up in April - 9 months does seem like a long time. The NHS has been outstanding. This forum saved me in the 6 weeks between diagnosis and results - I would have been lost otherwise. Thank you all so much xx

  • Brilliant news Nigel, I agree the NHS and this forum are a god send..at the very best to you.

  • Hi Spring2024 that is great news about your  check up results  I spoke to my specialist nurse today re the surveillance check up times as I didn’t really take it all in when I saw the consultant who told me different information and timescales than the surgeon had   I am on the same time scale as you next check up is sept then  April then annual  for five years fingers crossed I totally agree with you about this forum and the nhs it’s been invaluable to me

             Best wishes nigel
