I rang the hospital to ask if my results were in and could they tell me what they reported . I was told the surgeon would discuss them when I went in for surgery ( this Monday ) . Is this normal procedure or should I be worried ?
Hi Quarry
My high grade bladder cancer was detected in urine cytology test. I was told that cancer cells had been detected in my urine cytology test. Not all hospitals use the cytology test as low grade cancers can be missed as the cells can look very like normal cells.
Best wishes for your TURBT on Monday. I'm sure the staff will look after you really well.
Love Ade xx
Hi Ade , what a journey you have been on . I hope you keep responding well to treatment and thank you for your support . Been a bad year for us so far as we lost our border terrier Alfie 5 week ago ( he was 15 and the love of our lives ) and now this . Still there’s worse of than me and I have sons daughters and grandchildren to be thankful for . All the best
David xx
So sorry you lost Alfie, our dog friends mean so much. x
Hi David,
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss of Alfie. It's heartbreaking to lose a beloved pet at whatever age they are. We have had dogs all our married life and lost our lovely Border Collie 2 years ago, he was nearly 15. We didn't think that we could put ourselves through it again but I just hated the house so quiet without a dog in it so we now have a Working Cocker Spaniel girly who is mental and fits our home perfectly . She is so loving and enjoys cuddles which is wonderful when I'm not feeling well. We are also looking forward to grandchildren from our kids too.
Anyway, enough rambling from me. Sending you good wishes and positivity.
Love Ade xx
Hi Quarry, i know the heartache of losing a beloved pet. We lost our beautiful Izzy Cavalier spaniel. She was 13 and the love of our lives. She has been gone 9 months now and i still speak to her everyday.
sending you a hug and good luck with your surgery this week. Keep in touch , you are among friends on here that will hold you steady .
Much love Angela x
Hi Angela ,
thank you for your kind words and support . I have been really touched by the warmth and wisdom of this supportive group . I still look for Alfie in the mornings when I get up and only just been able to get rid of his toys . The other downside is I’m putting on weight and losing fitness not walking him every day . I can’t seem to motivate myself at the moment and I’m promising myself I will start after the operation . We have family in New Zealand and Australia and I’m hopeful of visiting them in the future . Anyhow I hope you are getting better and I see by your profile you have had your share of operations ( make me feel wimpish compared to most of you ) . Angela I am very grateful for all the support I have received and value your friendship xx
Ade I have borders too - it must have been a crushing loss, but I am sure he had a wonderful life and brought so many happy memories, poor thing.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
