A bit of light relief while we are on this cancer journey, evoking memories, joys , passion and funny stories. Its all here from prog rock, to punk rock and everything in between. Hope you book mark it and join in. Music can be a huge comfort in times of distress . It can also make you dance around the kitchen when no one is watching ! Add your stories. Recently chatted about Mr Halofan attending a YES concert, and it was really uplifting.
For some reason my dear late mum used to get Madness and ZZtop muddled up ! She would say ‘aren’t Madness the ones with the long beards and dark glasses’.She did love music and we watched all the music documentaries together and some televised concerts.Quite how she got those two bands confused was a bit strange given they are so different musically.Jane x
Oh teasswill did you find it funny that he didnt know wakeman ? It made me chuckle.
I used to do the camping /festival bit , but the camping out is definitely a no no these days. I like my comfort too much. We just buy day tickets now , a comfy bed is a must after a long day
Much love Angela x
Actually some tribute bands are really good.
Echobelly , The jets fairly big names for a small festival in Darwen ( i am making an assumption it wont be like glasto or reading here) . Should be a good day Garviv. Get you dancing shoes on man
Much love Angela x
Both great bands though (IMHO). I get confused with all the new bands, I could walk past 99% of the latest Pop stars and not have a clue.
It's a nice memory to have about your mum, something to think back and have a smile about.
My last festival was Reading Festival in 2012, mainly because my 15 yo son was desperate to see Foo Fighters and I really liked the lineup so we went, but we booked a hotel lol.. I'm not one for camping, especially with loads of loud drunk kid's around.
It was a really good day, I got to see The Black Keys, which I really like, plus Mark Lanegan (solo set)and some others. Plus foo fighters were really good.
Take care
Trevor
Hi Trevor,I’ve only been to one festival and that was Reading 1979.We watched the Foo fighters on tv when they played Glastonbury and mum really enjoyed them. Then I turned the sound down went out onto the balcony and could hear them in the distance.I live over 15 miles away but can usually make out the bass sounds and can hear the crowd cheering or singing.I get confused with a lot of the new bands too.
