A bit of light relief while we are on this cancer journey, evoking memories, joys , passion and funny stories.  Its all here from prog rock, to punk rock and everything in between. Hope you book mark it and join in. Music can be a huge comfort in times of distress . It can also make you dance around the kitchen when no one is watching !  Add your stories. Recently chatted about Mr Halofan attending a YES concert, and it was really uplifting.

  • Hi Angela,Just curious to find out what Mr Halofan thought of my choices.Listening to Tori Amos and Alan Parsons project so far tonight.Hope all is well with you ? Love Jane xx

  • Hi Jane, I was asking mr halofan last night, and surprisingly he hadnt heard of a couple of artists. He liked 10cc still does, went to see them recently, last year i think. like john martyn. not keen on bozz scaggs or merilion. He wondered if you are a folk music fan ?

    Much love Angela x

  • Good to see this too post is still going.

I've booked my first major gig since being diagnosed. I've been to smaller venues but I'm off to London Stadium (Westhams ground) in June.

Little bit anxious as BCG no number 18 has created some urgency and frequency issues. Hopefully I will be a bit better by then, but the thought of needing the loo constantly is playing on my mind.

I'll just have to avoid drinking for the day I guess.

I have my biopsy on 16/05 and expect the usual "inflammation issues"

I'm sure it will all be okay and I really do want to see Iron Maiden again (not everyone's cup of tea I know).

    Hope all are well.

  • Hi Angela,No I’m not that keen on folk music. My ex loves it so I did hear a lot when we were together.I like rock best if I had to pick a style.I have accumulated a lot of music by female artists not sure how that happened.I’m always open to listening to different music.I remember a friend of my sisters commenting on how long it would take to play all our music but it’s great to have a record to match mood or evoke a memory.xx

  • I hope you have a great time Trevor. We have had to cancel so many gigs in recent years. There has always been some crisis on the day.We are keeping our fingers crossed that we can get back to them.Jane x

  • Thanks Jane and sorry to hear about you having to cancel previous gigs.

Hope you can get back into again soon.

  • I hope you have a fantastic time head banging Trevor. I am exciting for you, it will be brilliant. As for the worry over urgency, maybe wear some of the tena pants and just see how you go . I am not an iron maiden fan but know the gig will be lively . good luck with your bx on 16th x

    Much love Angela x

  • Thanks Angela, I still have about 7 weeks so I'm keeping everything crossed.

My head banging day's are long gone, along with my hair.

They really are brilliant live, but yeah get that hey're an enquired taste, but they can still fill venue's and tour the world after all this time (50th anniversary).

Thanks again for the pads Idea, I'm hoping I will be ok.

Not sure why the last BCG has hit me so hard, I guess it gets harder.

Hope all's well with you? Have you finished your last BCG cycle recently. Not too many issues I hope.

  • Hi Trevor, they decided to stop after 2 this cycle because of urine sample showing alot of inflammation etc. she reassured me its fine and not to worry. having my annual ct thorax, abdo and bladder on the 14th , but no more bcg now for 6 months .
I am not an ironmaiden fan but would defo enjoy the gig . Hope i didnt offend you suggesting the pads , i suppose women of a certain age and pelvic floor are familiar with them , I dont know how men feel about them. I just see it as a practical reassurance . I use them every bcg day just in case . Take care trevor x

    Much love Angela x

  • Hi Angela,

Sorry to hear about your inflammation issues, I had too postpone a week due to the same issue, although they thought it was an infection...

Best of luck for 14th. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Not offended at all, it's a good idea. I have actually bought some, but they feel very weird..

I've also bought a "wee" pot for the car just in case we get stuck in traffic etc.

All a bit frustrating ATM, and a little sad.

My next BCG will be scheduled for September ISH, but I've mentioned my concerns and my consultant mentioned reducing the dose.

I'll see how I feel nearer the time. ATM, I'm considering just moving to check ups only... Maybe I'm just being a wuss lol.

    Take care.
