Hi Folks
How are you all doing?
So, a couple of days ago, I received a call from one of the urology cancer nurses to discuss my biopsies taken on 23 October. It was stated that there was insufficient tissue on all of the biopsy slides, and that where the lab needed tissue to be, it just cut off.
The long and the short of it is that I have now to go through the whole GA/biopsies etc again - with yet another surgeon who seems to want to provide a second opinion on my case. I have no idea when this will happen. It could be this side of Christmas, between Christmas and New Year, or into the New Year. Hmmm. It's not really the best news.
There is an incredibly thickened wall on my bladder and a great deal of inflammation which they are concerned about. Clearly, there is no wish to make a wrong diagnosis or incur a missed diagnosis. I shall return for more of the same and wait to get this new specialist's opinion.
Much love to all ️
Oh, yes, and a bladder instillation was mentioned this time. If it is a malignancy I feel all this back and forth stuff isn't helping.
Hi MagicStars . We know how worrying the uncertainty can be. Follow up biopsies are routine and carried out in most cases so try not to overthink things. They check to make sure they they have got all they can and it gives them a more accurate diagnosis to move forward with. Best wishes.
