Bladder removed in January as muscle invasive. Pet scan 4 weeks ago clear and after being admitted to hospital this week with complications of the bowel a Ct scan has detected possible bone cancer!!! I’m devasted. Due to start immunotherapy next week hopefully. Has anyone else had this at all.

  • Hello  . Sorry to hear your cancer may have moved in to your bones. It is very rare in this group, but hopefully someone may be able to help. Good to know you have some treatment planned. I hope all goes well with the immunotherapy. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Gillmc,I’m so sorry to hear this. There are a few posts about immunotherapy if you look in the search box.Best wishes for your treatment.Love Jane xx

  • Hi Gillmc, after an all clear pt scan this CT result must be a shock and totally devastating. I haven't had the treatment you are starting, but I have read very positive things about immunotherapy. Fingers crossed for you. Let us know how things go. Hx

  • Hi Gillmc,
I had my bladder removed in 2020 but cancer was spotted in my pelvic lymph nodes last summer.
Since then I have been having immunotherapy (Keytruda) in conjunction with a trial chemo drug (Padcev).
It has kept the cancer at bay and regular scans show all clear.

I have had a lot of side effects along the way and am currently just on the immunotherapy.
Having a scan on Friday which will be a scan based solely on a period of just the immunotherapy so fingers crossed it’s working as well as the combination.
I also have a friend who is just on immuno for a different cancer and it is working very well for her and everything has shrunk.

Here’s hoping you get similar results.

    cheers

  • Hi chasam. I find your information very usefull. What were the first symptoms that it had spread to the pelvis?

I wonder how often this happens?

    Worrying. Thanks

  • Hi Bluepanther, I think if you look up NHS or NICE Guildelines they might publish statistics. In general nobody can predict  if there will be a reoccurrence or spread. Hope your immunotherapy will prove successful.

  • Hi Bluepanther,
One of the good things to come from a diagnosis and treatment is being “in the system”.
I had no symptoms at all when cancer was found in my pelvic lymph nodes.
It was picked up in one of my regular scans.

    cheers
