Any tips on flying with a urine leg bag with urostomy
Hi
I don’t use a urine leg bag but I do fly regularly. Mine is simply the standard urostomy bag on my tummy. I always make sure the bag is completely empty before I board the plane, I get a seat close to the toilet and I always carry spare supplies in my hand luggage including a change of clothes.
I go to the loo regularly during the flight to empty my bag, because I don’t follow the standard advice not to drink on the flight! I also carry a toilet urgency card just in case a queue builds up and I’d need to show this to the crew.

Thank you for advice this is my 1st flight since my bladder removed
You gain confidence the more you do it I found, and I also have a colostomy to deal with. I can say I have found airports both here and abroad have very respectful staff when going through security-I’ve always been taken to a private room with a same sex member of staff for a quick, and discreet, check of my bags.
Hope you have a lovely holiday!
