Small cell bladder cancer

Good Morning DigsySE18 and welcome to the group although sorry to hear your husband has been diagnosed with bc. As you say, small cell is very rare. I did not have small cell, but did have chemo as have others here. If you know what chemo your husband will be having, we should be able to answer any questions. Best wishes.

Thanks rily. He will be having carboplatin and etoposide which is what they give for small cell lung cancer too. If anyone can give me any idea how effective this is I'd be so grateful. Its all a big unknown to me right now.

There's one thing about having something rare. Being a medical curiosity can attract useful-to-you extra attention from medics. Hope it helps.

Hi Di,There are many factors for the team to consider with regards to surgery.The general health of the patient,age,the nature of the cancer,the location of the cancer,quality of life post surgery etc.I had squamous cell which is rare but not as uncommon as small cell.I shall keep everything crossed for your husband’s chemo.Love Jane x
