I know this comes up every year. On the advice of the Macmillan telephone nurse advice line last year, I have been working on a 10days/2 week gap between the vaccines and the start or end of BCG. I had my flu jab 21 days and the Covid booster 12 days before my first BCG.
I have just returned from my second BCG in the current series. I was a bit surprised when the CNS started asking whether I had received Covid booster and flu jabs. She told me that they'd had a meeting that morning when they agreed that the current advice should be to wait 6 weeks before a BCG. A bit late!, I thought.
I thought this might be a useful reminder to any others who are to have the jabs and BCG to check with their CNS asap.
Hi . Good advice. We do know this has been a bit of a grey area, but several weeks gap does seem to be the general advice as a precaution. Hope you are doing well with your treatment. Best wishes.
