Hi, would like I ask, with Covid booster jabs coming soon, does anyone know if with having cancer treatment then we can have this booster?
thank you

  • Good question. I was asked on Friday by my gp surgery about a flu jab. From what I could read, it seems better to have a vaccination before or after chemotherapy, but not during.

  • Last year i had my flu jab in the middle of my BCG induction course and this year my 2nd Covid jab during my first set of maintenance doses.

It looks like my flu jab this year will be during my upcoming set of maintenance doses. My Urology dept don't seem to have a problem with the jabs coinciding with treatment.

  • Thank you, I’m having BCG start my next lot in approximately 3 weeks, hopefully will be able to have the booster

hope you are doing ok Coojee

  • Hopefully I will be able to have it before my next treatment starts x

  • My CNS said that the hospital protocol is that I must wait a week between having the Covid jab and having my BCG. The same applies to the flu jab; there also needs to be at least a week between the flu jab and the Covid jab. My GP advised 10 days. The CNS said that no treatment would be offered unless there was a week's gap. Definitely, I could not have the Covid jab at the same time as having BCG.

I don't know about the gap after BCG and then having the Covid jab.
