Hi

I'm recovering from some quite bad constipation, but still not normal. I was recommended to try Optibac & have been doing so for the past month. I'd say it's had no effect at all on my or my wife. Are there any other brands worth trying?

  • You may think this is bonkers but my go-to when things go slow (like post anaesthetic times) is beetroot. Add half a beetroot into two meals on the trot and bingo. Don't panic when the pan goes red though Slight smile I have also found Ducolax effective but prefer vegetables to products. x

  • We're taking Laxido at the moment. After a couple fainting episodes & late night ambulance, I need to get things Normal as soon as I can.

  • Hi Coojee, I wouldn't expect Optibac, which we also take, [I have the feminine one, he has the everyday extra] to cure constipation. But I totally agree with Herothedog about beetroot. When we get it in our veg box I make soup, some onions softened, the pre-pressure-cooked beetroot in chunks, something tangy either lemon juice or tomato ketchup works well to taste, and thicken with cornflour or whatever you prefer and blitz.

Hope this helps solve the problem,

    Denby
