Day 5 of first chemo. Got up late had breakfast, but now gone back to bed as I was feeling faint. Any tips please?
Firstly never take any supplements without clearance from your pharmacist/hospital pharmacist. If I felt very fatigued I might be looking at vitamin B complex or food supplements like brewers yeast or marmite [other spreads are available and watch out for high salt levels] that contain significant amounts of various B group vitamins.
Why not ask those pharmacists if the chemo regime is known for depleting any particular nutrient? [For instance, statins are known for depleting Coenzyme Q10 also found as Ubiquinol, this info from our old GP who endorsed my husband taking CoQ10 from the day she put him on the statins.] Personally I would also ask them if the drugs have any adverse effect on the gut biome. I would love to hear any answers you get if you decide to enquire, thanks,
Denby
Just to say taking Vitamin B tablets turned my urine into neon yellow apple-juice as opposed to it's usual brut champagne look. (My urology nurses are big on saying "champagne not chardonnay" )
Turmeric does the same to mine, but the reduction in arthritic pain is significant.
