Anyone help me with a healthy diet . Going in for my RC on 16 sept and want to be at my healthiest for this
Hi Maci,I ate plenty of fruit and vegetables.I tried to walk more before the surgery.Once you have had the op it’s important to walk about even though you probably won’t feel like it.The bowel likes to go to sleep after cystectomy.I staggered up and down the ward luckily there were bars on the walls to cling onto.I hope it all goes well.Best wishes Jane
Not much time to prepare! Plenty of exercise, including abdominal muscles, good varied diet eg Mediterranean style & good sleep. Easier said than done. Be prepared to feel immensely weak & tired post op, just take things slowly. Hope to hear from you later in September!
