I'm in hospital right now having my first chemotherapy. I'm being pumped with water at the moment & have been given a sickness pill. Really kind nurses here. I'm listening to music so I don't have to hear the machine. My wife is next door in a Maggie's centre. She sent me some photos, it looks really nice in there. She really wanted to be with me though. She was physically sick in the hospital car park.
Hi Coojee, as others have said, I really don't think they would suggest surgery if they didn't believe it would have a good outcome. They obviously think they can help you. So if I was in your wife's position I'd see this as decision as positive, though I truly understand how frightening all this is for you both. I hope you can now get some peace and relaxation over the next few days. Building up your stamina and fitness is important prior to surgery. Sending love x
Thank you. I have explained this to her. But she is worried I could die in the operation & also our future plans for our life in Scotland would be ruined.
Hi Coojee,
We are all very worried, whether it is us having the cancer, or a relative or spouse ... Everybody reacts in a different way. I have heard this from many people going through what you are: "Sometimes it is us with the cancer that have to be strong for those around us". Obviously your wife loves you very much and she worries a lot...
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
