Is it normal to bleed heavily after a flexible cystoscopy?
Hi Joe Soap. It is not uncommon to have some light bleeding for a day or so after a flexi, but heavy bleeding needs to be investigated, and you need to contact the medics. If it persists or gets worse, you may like to call 111 for advice. In the meantime, drink plenty of water to help stop any blockages. best wishes.
Sorry to have been so slow in replying.
I am actually feeling very well, apart from fatigue. But the bleeding is getting heavy.. I am awaiting a series of hospital appointments :a fluoroscope when the machine is repaired at the RD&E, and of course, some more BCGs.
Hi Joe Soap,It is best to seek medical advice if the bleeding is heavy.I had a bladder haemorrhage many years ago and ended up in A & E.I was given antibiotics as the dr said the bleeding would increase the likelihood of infection.Good luck with your tests.Best wishes Jane
Hi Tim, I had a bladder haemorrhage after which my first tumour was diagnosed. It went on for a whole day and I also ended up in A+E and getting a blood transfusion. Heavy bleeding isn't good, perhaps going to A+E in the morning would be better? I think you said you are getting treated at RD+E? I get my treatment at NDDH which does a brilliant job, spot on the NICE guidelines. I wonder if a fluoroscope is what the Americans call "blue light screening"? They seem to think it is the best for showing up reoccurrences. Best wishes H
