Hi all.
So I'm back at work and the anxiety seems to calming down but I am still an emotional cabbage and can cry at a moments notice.
My TURBT was 7 weeks ago this Friday and I am still having sharp pain at the site where the tumour was removed as well as pain when I empty my bladder. My GP said this is expected and not to worry, just wait for next Cystoscopy in August.
Anyone else found the pain lingers longer than a couple of weeks?
I've also had all 4 of my B12 jabs and still not feeling the benefit of those yet. Maybe my body is just trying to repair too much at once?
Anyway.....sending love to all
Clare
Aprildaisies75. Hi Clare. Good to hear you are back at work, but sorry to hear you are still not feeling great. We know there is a big difference in the recovery time after a TURBT. Some people take a lot longer than others to get back to normal. It is not unusual to have lingering aches and pains, we see it often on here. Saying that, if it persists, then back to the doctors. I can't remember how long it took my initial B12 jabs to take effect, but they did eventually. I am now on 3 monthly jabs for life (currently swapped to daily tablets because of covid to save going to GP). I hope you pick up soon. Best wishes.
Hi Clare,
My initial TURBT recovery was about 4 weeks in total but as rily has said everyone is different. I would definitely go to the doctor if only to exclude an infection. If it’s not that it would be worth a phone call to your CNS at the hospital to see what they advise. I certainly wouldn’t leave it until August.
best wishes Luce
Hi rily
I saw the GP Wednesday and he said I need to be patient...ha ha
He also said considering the size of the wound etc from the TURBT he would expect it to take a little longer to heal. So I guess I need to just be patient and as I am also struggling with exhaustion from this B12 deficiency I guess my body is going through a lot at the moment.

Hi Luce
I have seen the doctor, I'm lucky enough to live opposite the village surgery .... hee hee. So they are doing weekly urine tests to check for infection.
In the last 18 months my uncle was murdered, my son in law took his life, my cousin died suddenly from stomach cancer none of us knew she had, I've had hand surgery and now this damned disease..... I guess my body has just had enough and needs some time to restore.

Hi Clare. Not surprising you are not feeling great. It must have bene been an awful time for you recently. Good advice from your GP, makes sense. Give it some time. Try and enjoy the sunshine. Best wishes.
Hi Aprildaisies75, what a terrible run of disaster, you must be emotionally exhausted by this series of tragedies. Hope things ease for you soon. x Sometimes we seem to get hit by one problem after the other. Mine were not so serious as yours but just after I fell over and broke my upper arm in 2016, I developed spinal stenosis, became almost housebound and required spinal surgery. While waiting for the spinal op I had a major haemorrhage and bladder cancer diagnosed. Luckily since then things have improved
Hi herothedog
I don't compare personal tragedy as there is no comparison when it comes to stress and how our bodies heal and repair.
Sounds like you have also had a rough time.....sending love and I hope you are now on the road to recovery.
I have returned to work this week but only part time for now as my manager recognises what I've been through and I haven't had any time off throughout it all so I am now accessing the counselling service. I think now I have stopped and taken a breath its all hitting me at once.
Thanks for your kind words.

Hi Clare
I totally understand how you are feeling without your B12 and on top of everything else. I have a B12 jab every 3 months and I know when it is due I can hardly function.
Wishing you well
Inanna x
Hi inanna
I've just had the initial 4 within 10 days then I will be having the jab every 3 months like you.
How long after your first 4 did you feel better. Most people I know say they felt better after the first one but I haven't noticed anything yet.
Sending love to all
