Hi,Have any of you suffered from nausea that is not related to chemo or radiotherapy ? I’d welcome any tips and advice as I’m feeling as green as Kermit the frog.I’m not in pain, bowels are working and the stoma looks fine.I’m waiting for ct scan results.Love to you all Jane xx
Hi Jane and so sorry to hear this. I found out years ago when a weird bug was going round the teenage children [one in the choir threw up in the middle of the carol service...] that the lymph glands which surround the stomach swell if fighting an infection. They then press on the stomach and or cause bloated swelling. I find this causes nausea if eg I'm brewing a sore throat. So could it be that? Hope you feel better soon any which way.
Denby
Hi Denby,That’s interesting.I’ve felt sick on and off for several weeks.I contacted the specialist nurse and then the urologist ordered a scan.If the scan is clear then the uro wants the gp to do more tests.I’ve had liver problems in the past and feel ‘liverish’ again but blood tests were ok.Best wishes to you and Mr D.Love Jane xx
Aaaah I hate feeling sick Jane, it's the absolute worst! I have IBS & often feel sick at night as soon as I lie down in bed, I take Peptac liquid for it & it's seems to do the trick. Some people take mint tea, ginger, or suck a mint, anything's worth a try. Hope you feel better soon xxx
Hi Blanket,I hadn’t been physically sick for 34 years before the cystectomy.I made up for it when my bowel stopped working.I think I will try some ginger as that’s supposed to be good for nausea.I’m hoping I can find out what’s causing it and then perhaps it can be cured.Love Jane xx
Hi Blanket,I haven’t tried the ginger yet but it’s on the shopping list for the next trip.I’ve managed a couple of hours gardening today but I’m feeling queasy again so have come indoors. It is frustrating as I don’t know what is causing it.Love Jane xx
Hi winkers, it's not something to do with your ears and balance is it? Have you been able to discuss symptoms with your GP?
Thanks H,I don’t think it’s my ears but I can probably get them checked.I will speak to a gp if the scan is clear. My experience of our health centre since I had cancer has been so awful I have to psyche myself up just to phone them.My partner John finds them the same.I can’t drive and that’s the only reason I haven’t changed to a better practice.Love Jane xx
Hi Luce,I have reflux too and have medication for it.I should be able to speak to a gp if the nausea doesn’t improve. The urologist wondered whether it might be a gall bladder problem as I had referred pain to my right shoulder tip.Love Jane xx
