Was a bit low on Wednesday as went for my second cycle of chemo had the fluid to be told later to go home as white blood cells low and kidney function low so could not do the chemo meds as it may make me very poorly.
Spoke to oncologist who said we try again next Wednesday, but what happens if it low again and the stop chemo altogeter?
Hi Amelia55. These delays are fairly common. I had 2 delays during my treatment for low blood counts. I was told in extreme circumstances they can give medication to get your count back up, but they generally prefer to let things get back naturally, hence the delay. Shouldn't have any effect on the overall treatment, it just drags things out. Best wishes.
