Hi
Can anyone tell me how long the pain lasts following an RC to give me an idea of recovery time, I’m just over 3 weeks post surgery and my insides feel like there ripping apart, with every movement.
Thanks in advance
Hi bewildered 50. Can't offer much advice I'm afraid as I have not had RC . Just wanted to wish you well. I'm sure someone will be along to share experiences. Best wishes.
Hi, you shouldn't be having pain like that if it is literally every movement. Tell your medics & ask about suitable pain relief. I think I was off all painkillers by about day 10 post op. However, I had plenty of twinges & discomfort over the next few months as I gradually increased activities & started moving more fully again. As I started exercising again, I moved slowly & if a particular movement hurt, I would ease up. The key is to go at the pace your body dictates, but it does sound as if you are suffering unnecessarily.
Hi,So sorry you are in pain.I had discomfort for some time but it was manageable with paracetamol. Please do seek medical advice and don’t suffer in silence.I was feeling better after about 12 weeks but much stronger by 8 months.Recovery time does appear to vary.Mine was slow but I was fairly ill before the surgery. It’s still early days for you but hopefully you will pick up over time.I hope you feel better soon.Love and best wishes Jane
