Hi my first follow up since being diagnosed 14 months ago is tomorrow. That's because it was superficial and very low grade. Well today I am past myself with anxiety . How do you all manage the day before and do you all feel this anxious xxx
Hi saskia1, yes we all get jittery as we get closer to a screening. I try to push it to the back of my mind, working on the theory that worrying is a waste of my energy. Nonetheless it is always a relief after a cystoscopy is over even when there has been a reoccurrence. Somehow the unknown is more nerve-wracking. Low grade cancers frequently reappear, but can be removed vey successfully. I've had 4 small low grade reoccurrences in past 4 years but I'm still living a generally well and healthy life. Hi . I'm several years down the line and still get the jitters before each check. Just try and keep yourself busy to keep your mind off it. I hope all goes well for you. Best wishes.
Three years plus for me now. Still anxious before procedures but the relief afterwards is wonderful. Stay positive, try and keep busy. Good luck tomorrow. Garviv
