Hi,
I’m new to here! My mum has had bladder cancer since 2018, she had her bladder removed and 6 months later came back in the lymph nodes. She stated immunotherapy which worked well for 18th months.
However last week we were told it had spread to her pelvis which I’m struggling to deal with and my mind is racing not being able to cope without her even tho they haven’t said weeks or months but my brain is telling me that. I am a cancer nurse myself and find it’s very difficult being on the other side.
She is a VERY positive person and is well in herself, she turns 60 in a couple of weeks so she’s still young!
Her oncologist has said for radiotherapy and to go down to London for clinical trials.
I was wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar?
any response would be grateful:)

Summerdays1405. Hi Sophie. I have not had a cystectomy so not in the best position to help, but let me welcome you to the group. Sorry to hear your mum has had spread to her pelvis. I had radiotherapy for my bc, which has so far been successful, so hopefully it will help with mum's new condition. Clinical trials can be successful, so we hope it will be good for mum. Sorry I can't be of more help, but just wanted to respond to your post and maybe others will be along with better experience. Best wishes.
Hi Rily,
Thank you for your message! Glad your radiotherapy worked well :) hope it does for my mum as aswell and fingers crossed for the trials! X
Hi Sophie , I cant offer any advice on radiotherapy i just wanted to reply and offer support. I am a similar age to when your mam was diagnosed and I'm also a nurse and know how awful that mind racing feeling is. I hope the radiotherapy goes well. This is a fabulous support group and I hope someone on here can offer advice.
Xx
