Im concerned about my general fitness. Due to self isolating on and off over the last 6 months, and now having chemo so feeling drained with no energy ive seen my physique change a lot. My muscles have reduced hugely and im assuming my cardio is equally bad. If all goes to plan I should be having RC about 4 weeks after chemo finishes. Im really worried im going in to a huge operation a fraction of what I was pre cancer.
Hi Sue. I know how chemo can wipe you out and make you feel like doing nothing. I know it is hard to get motivated, but the fitter you are usually helps with recovery after any surgery. Hard as it is, you need to try some light exercise, such as short walks. The more you do, the more you feel like doing. If it is difficult to get out, you can try home exercising using simple things like bags of sugar or the plastic bottles of milk. Getting started is the hardest part. Best wishes.
