Hi everyone I’m new to this group.
I am awaiting a cystoscopy and other tests as I have blood in my urine. I have been having symptoms of a uti for over 8 weeks now and before that I had the same experience for 3-4 weeks in Feb. I went to my GP in feb who said my symptoms were due to my bladder prolapse which I have had for 5 years. He referred me to a urogyncologist. I have had several telephone appointments with gp as symptoms so bad and got nowhere. I have just seen the urogynacologist who told me these symptoms were not due to my prolapse and needed urgent investigation. I am so tired of these symptoms which keep me awake at night and have taken over my life. I also get nauseous. I am just wondering if anyone else has had these symptoms? Also can someone tell me how long I will have to wait to have the cystoscopy?
so sorry to sound if I’m moaning but just trying to find some answers. Thanks for listening.
Hi and welcome to the community. it is understandable how you are feeling as you have had no answers to your concerns. Blood in urine is a symptom of bladder cancer, but can be caused by many other things. The good thing now is that it is to be investigated. A flexible cystoscopy is the best test to see what is causing your problems. A normally painless procedure, although slightly uncomfortable. You will be able to see for yourself the inside of your bladder and anything untoward will be pointed out to you. Under normal circumstances, you should be seen within 2 weeks, but there is currently a bit of a backlog because of the Covid situation. If you do not hear anything, it is always an idea to give them a ring and give them a nudge. Best wishes.
Hi Jules1855,Welcome from me too though so sorry you are suffering with your symptoms. It’s horrible when you have your sleep disrupted.I had over 30 years of chronic bladder disease and repeated infections and never got much sleep.I hope you won’t have to wait too long for your cystoscopy.Love and best wishes.Jane xx
