Hi all

Sorry to be a pain but this is a day where I feel really down . Has anyone felt nauseous x yesterday and today i have this feeling of nausea x certain things and foods and smells make me dry heave x i am forcing myself to eat amall amounts and swallowing tablets is a nightmare

For those who don't know i am about 8 weeks after having my bladder removed. I now have a stoma

Before i start panicking,  has anyone had this after surgery.

I would be so grateful to hear from you

  • Sorry to hear that Inanna, perhaps it's due to bladder removal?

Might I add that I always feel sick after surgery.  MrB tries to feed me up to build me up he says.   I've only been gone for about 6 hours & missed just the one meal   Thinking

Hope you feel better soon!  You're not a pain, you're lovely & a real diamond xxx

  • Hi Inanna,I’m so sorry you are feeling nauseous.I felt sick when I first came home from hospital.I can’t remember how long it lasted but some days it was much worse than others. These days if I have overdone it I start feeling sick.Have you got any other symptoms ? Love Jane xx

  • Hi Jane

You have taken a weight off my shoulders x it is so unpleasant x i must admit getting to the stage now where i am fed up with the appetite hassle x i have not been out because of this virus and living in a seaside town with the beach at the bottom of my road, it will be rammed in the summer months

Just feeling low today and i feel so guilty for being so after my results from my Consultant

    Thanks for your lovely response

  • Hi Blanket

Thank you for your kind words, so appreciated

You and Jane have cheered me up no end

I will be glad when eating becomes a pleasure again and not a chore.

  • How miserable for you. If it's a certain category of foods, just leave those alone & stick to anything you feel you can fancy. Make sure to keep up fluids, even if you can't manage much of solids.

  • Hi Inanna,You have nothing to feel guilty about, the lows are part of the recovery.Perhaps it would be worth speaking to someone medical if your appetite and nausea don’t improve soon.I expect you are missing your walk near the beach. It is a worry that scenic places might be overrun with people now the rules have been slightly relaxed. Are you on much medication ? The morphine made me sick and all the antibiotics caused nausea.Take care, love Jane xx

  • Hi Teasswell

It is horrible. I drink loads of water x I was going to pan fry seabass but that made me feel iffy so its grilled sausage and a small portion of veg

Hi I had this feeling for many weeks when it was time to eat any food I just felt terrible nausea but I suppose I was lucky my hubby would cook something then I felt obliged to eat some of it I am sure if I had to get it myself I wouldn’t of bothered but I did take sickness tablets .  I still get very down some days I don’t think it helps with this silly virus I feel so lonely sometimes hope you feel better soon love Liz x

  • Hi Jane

3 tabs in the morning and 2 at night.   I have been on them for a long time i am not on any hospital meds

I spoke to my enhanced recovery nurse yesterday but did not mention the nausea as it was not so bad.  Might have to give her a ring.  I think that because i have stopped hospital meds i am worried about this happening so late

  • Hi Liz

Just how I feel about food

Unfortunately I have not got a cook on hand lol

Liz what sickness tablets did you take? I find it so hard to swallow tablets which is really a problem

You are not alone in being lonely,  this rotten virus x if that was not around i would have been walking but really scared to go out.

    Stay safe
