Delayed immunotherapy

Sorry if this has already been asked but I’ve had a search around and can’t find any information and I’m giving myself awful anxiety.
My PDD and immunotherapy has been cancelled and though I do understand the reasons I can’t pretend I’m not worried. I have grade 3, T1 cancer of the bladder, I’ve had 2 TURBT ops and I was on week 9 of my bcg.
I just want to know if anyone else has had everything stopped indefinitely as well, I know I won’t be the only one bit not knowing even a vague idea of when it might start again is making me really struggle.

I don’t even know who I can ask for any advice as the nurses who had been doing my bcg aren’t in the dept any more and the consultants secretary number just goes to answer phone.

  • Hi . Unfortunately, you are not alone in this. BCG as well as many other treatments have been put on hold, and is a worry for many people. As a positive, I would suggest that by having the 2 TURBTs as well as the BCG so far would put you in a favourable position. Some people have been told treatment would be suspended for 3 months, but the way things are going, we really don't know. The reason is of course is that treatment may put you at a greater risk and many of the staff have been moved on to CV19 duty. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Deli,

like you I had my immunotherapy cancelled. I had CIS and after the first six treatments  I was told that my April appointments were being cancelled. It is frustrating but all we can do is hope for a quick resolution. Take care.
