Hello fellow BC people. I managed last Monday to have a flexible cystoscopy albeit it should have been completed in January. All clear thank goodness but a further check required in four months time. The following day the shut down begun.I feel for all those cancer patients who have had appointments and procedures cancelled because of staff shortages during this dreadful time. Ten days on and the governments record on testing, provision of PPE for our wonderful NHS staff and ventilators for needy patients is abysmal. The hypocrisy from Ministers and the clown we have for PM who exulted us all to social distance whilst bragging about shaking hands with Nurses and Health workers beggars belief and guess what he and Matt Hancock got the virus.
The news in the last few days regarding the testing of NHS staff and provision of safety equipment in our hospitals is extremely worrying. At the height of the crisis our MP’s have started their Easter break early with Parliament only due to reconvene in three weeks time. It is vital Ministers and Health officials performances and decisions are scrutinised and questioned by MP’s. I have emailed my MP today demanding he requests a recall of Parliament immediately albeit using video links and other self isolating technology in order Ministers are cajoled and instructed to increase NHS testing quickly and intensely and to provide the necessary equipment in order to deal with this virus
Rant over! Stay well everyone

Hi . Chemoradiation can have good results. I had this over 5 years ago for muscle invasive bc. Best wishes.
Thank you for your positive reply, it's a very scary time but I will get through this
It's very reassuring to hear you have gone over5 years
I will be having a radical cystectomy when times are better this treatment is just to see me through this present pandemic
Don't know what is more scary knowing I have cancer or this covid19
Stay safe
I wouldn't dream of denying you are in a very rough situation. However what you can do [if you haven't already of course] is totally optimise your nutrition, sleep, exercise etc to boost your health as much as possible. And the sense of control of doing so also boosts your body's fighting ability, white blood cells etc I believe.
Very best, just hoping my one foray into local shop today hasn't brought home any nasties,

Hello Mrstenseman, I also had chemo radiotherapy two years ago which eradicated the tumours and cancer albeit I had a recurrence last November which was a superficial tumour. I had this removed in day surgery by Turbt. I have just had a flexible cystoscopy (March 2020) and given all clear with a further check up in July if this crisis allows. Good luck with your treatment.

I am with you on this one, my cystectomy has been postponed, so now waiting for chemoradiotheropy to buy me some time, I hope, worrying it will spread before I get treatment, everything crossed this works for me
Stay safe all
I know it's my own fault for asking for a referral to another hospital at the last minute, & I don't know if it would've been done anyway. But I had a letter a few days ago to say that mine's been cancelled too at the new hospital. Although it was only to start again & that begins with seeing the consultant for the first time. I had a brief sort of panic attack in bed the other night thinking about it, but there ain't a lot that we can do right now. I'm thinking even if we had been seen to & had our operations & treatments, there would still be hold ups for us in future with this virus.
My consultant tried 2 hospital and they both said no surgeries being carried out, so don't beat yourself up over this, it probably would have happened even without asking for a second opinion, it's all about being in itu after surgery and those beds are no longer available, we must stay strong through this, although I know how difficult that is,
Stay safe
You are right I have written to my MP,raised a complaint with the hospital phoned urology dept spoken to enconlogist tried the private route via work scheme all to no avail. Can see a lot of people in harder position than me I am just not very brave it’s a crisis and until it passes cannot see any progress with my op or other treatment. Trying to concentrate on things other than my health . Thanks all for support and encouragement it helps. Best wishes to all
Can I ask what op you were destined for, turbt or cystectomy?
Yes sure second TURBT had first last April had a clear cystocopy in August but in Feb this year cystocopy showed up second tumour was due to go in on 20th March for Turbt that was cancelled rearranged at different hospital for 18th March that was cancelled on the 17th... I am in London my hospital is Northwick Park which has had huge number of Covid 19 patients so could be blessing I am not being operated on their..
