Hi All. How is everyone doing? Anyone stuck indoors? Remember, this is a support group, and things don't always need to be medical. There is usually someone here if you just want a chat, a moan, or any stories. My wife has been stocking up on paint, so guess what I will be doing in the near future. Best wishes.
You've been so sensitive to your mum's feelings and wishes Jane.xx It's been a huge undertaking for you from offering her care at home as long as it was possible, to sorting out the masses of stuff in the house. It's made me focus on clearing out my house and reducing the far too much "stuff" I seem to have accumulated. I hope soon you'll be packing up your own stuff for a move to the home of your dreams.
Gosh, you do seem to have had an utter mountain to sort and dispose of in a suitable manner. Pacing yourself is certainly wise. I expect you also get side tracked going down memory lane too.
Having brought various items from my Mum's house to keep, I'm wondering what to do with them!
Today has been swapping storage of my warmer/cooler clothes. Yesterday was first boot wearing day.
Thanks so much H.I have honoured mum’s wishes in her will and that has been a comfort to me.I’ve packed up a lot of my own belongings already.Good luck with your own clearing.Love Jane xx
The aggro we have is from Auntie's solicitors, who have made a massive mess and are totally unapologetic. It seems there is little we can do as the Solicitor's Regulation authority etc offer such paltry redress even if you get it that it is just not worth the effort.
Be warned all ye who read here, any named Executor can renounce at will [ha, ha :( ] with a very short simple form sent to the solicitors or to HMCTS who deal with probate. This lands family who are neither ready, willing or able forced to step in as 'administrators.' So be very sure the Executors due to act for your elderly relatives are truly ready willing and able.
What a nightmare for you,I’m so sorry to hear you have had so much trouble. The auctioneer has been spectacularly unhelpful. My aunt phoned her as my e mails to them had been ignored.Apparently there are not many more items of mum’s to be sold which was news to me.
My aunt was of the same opinion about her, frosty and difficult to deal with.If I leave a review it won’t be glowing.Love Jane x
