Hi All. How is everyone doing? Anyone stuck indoors? Remember, this is a support group, and things don't always need to be medical. There is usually someone here if you just want a chat, a moan, or any stories. My wife has been stocking up on paint, so guess what I will be doing in the near future. Best wishes.
Ah the good ole canula..that brings back memories...bad ones..lol
They are keeping it in for now until they decide what to do.Apparently my white blood cell count is high and have just had the clot test repeated.
What a palaver Jane. Such a nuisance they dont check back on records, I suppose it's because they are so busy. Hope you can get a coffee and a sarnie while you wait. x
Hi H,John treated me to a snack in M & S afterwards so that was welcome. The volunteer in the dept was making hot drinks so I had a mug of builders tea there. The clot test was ok so I don’t have to continue with the blood thinners. They think now it’s an infection so I have a course of Amoxycillin to take. They are arranging another non contrast scan to check abdomen and pelvis as I’ve lost weight recently. It’s nice to be back home,it was tiring.Love Jane xx
Thanks for the hugs. When I was in A & E on Friday I was sitting next to a lady with a nasty chest complaint. She phoned her children saying ‘dr says I’m not to lift a finger for at least a week and you will have to help mummy as I have to take it easy’.I could hear the children saying they would be very good and helpful. The call ended and her friend said ‘the dr said no such thing did he ? ‘No of course not she said but my kids are lazy blighters’ It did make me laugh.
Nice one.
But modern society does too readily neglect the power of rest at the times when it is needful. Once upon a time it was one of the strongest weapons in a doctor's armoury. My schoolfriend's Dad might not have had a fatal heart attack in the aftermath of a bad bout of flu in around 1968 if he had not dragged himself back to work, out of sincere motives, but far too soon. We were still at primary school.
