Hi All. How is everyone doing? Anyone stuck indoors? Remember, this is a support group, and things don't always need to be medical. There is usually someone here if you just want a chat, a moan, or any stories. My wife has been stocking up on paint, so guess what I will be doing in the near future. Best wishes.

  • Mr Grandmother had it, but fortunately it can be controlled. Still, I could do without it, but I've had a lot worse.

    Thanks for reply.Blush

It doesn't matter where you go, there you are
  • I hope they can control it.They were able to do this with my aunt.

  • Well it's still early days and optician was doing the referral for a second opinion and as a precaution. The likelihood is that it's treatable, so the prognosis is probably favourable. Just a bind, but bearable.

  • Its 6 year today that Mr W was diagnosed 24 bcg and his last flexi clear However cancer found in his ureter initially told no treatment available due to poor kidney function Stent improved kidney function and surgery on the cards.Last Friday he had kidney scan at dept of nuclear medicine and this morning got call surgeon wants to see him Friday I'm terrified results back so quickly convinced myself it's bad news Its hard to grasp he is fine in himself and since stent put in no blood in urine

  • Hi Wilbert,It may not be bad news.Perhaps the surgery can be done sooner.Sending love and hugs.Jane xx

  • Hi

Unfortunately, we always expect the worse (it comes with territory), but conversely it could be good news.

  • Hi Wilbert, very reasonable you are worried about such a quick response, but it might be the kidney function improvement means the surgeon can do the op now. I think hospitals are under pressure to reduce their cancer lists again after all the COVID delays, so if it means getting the ureter sorted that'd be good news. It'll be hard waiting the next two days but of course you (and all of us) have had plenty of practice. Fingers and toes crossed for you H x

  • Thanks everyone I've googled the dept that did the scan and it seems they operate quick turnaround with results according to their website

We are now attending a major teaching hospita attached to a University All of it new and modern Its like a small town and has changed beyond recognition in the last10 years since we last visited

Very different from our previous hospital which was previously a workhouse

    best wishes
