Hi

I had my tumour removed on 14th June this year. Was told that I would have a flexible cystoscopy check in 3 months. No word so phoned today to ask. Told that I was scheduled for 5th October but that they are running behind so won't be until end of October at very earliest but probably won't be seen until November! Is this OK? I am really worried especially since my urine constantly shows leukocytes. I am bloated and have lower abdominal pain and sweats but I'm told it's nothing to be concerned about and probably not UTI. Can I push to be seen sooner?

Hi   Plantaholic1 sorry to hear about the problems your'e having the only advice I can give about the appointment is phone each week ...If you have a key worker   ( Clinical nurse specialist ) get in touch with them tell them how you feel ..cheers harry

  • Hi . Unfortunately we know there is always a backlog in some places for flexi checks. It is always a worrying time waiting for these and it does help to have a definite date to focus on. In the great scheme of things a few extra weeks wait does not make much difference, but doesn't lessen the anxiety. You can phone the urology waiting list office and let them know your concerns. Let them know you would be available for any cancellations at short notice, or you would be willing to travel further afield to a different hospital if possible. For future reference, it is always recommended to phone up a few weeks before due to make sure you are on the list. If you don't chase them up, you may just drop down the list. Not ideal, but unfortunately because of the high demand, this is how things are. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

Thanks Rily. I will phone today and let them know that I am willing to take any cancellation. Do suffer from anxiety as part of another condition. Many thanks.

Think I will phone CNS today and tell them how I am feeling. Not sleeping and do suffer from anxiety. Many thanks for replying. Best wishes.

  • In my experience CNS is the person who can work wonders with the system. x

  • Hope you got your appointment Plant!  I only ever got to see them after 3 months on one occasion, it was usually 4-5 months at my hospital.
