Morning all, this is my pre-hospital day, so I'm packing a small bag, charging phone, trying to stay in the moment and not to worry ...hopeless! Tomorrow I'm due to have a rigid cystoscopy and biopsy on my second reoccurrence, which is described as multiple superficial TCC on posterior bladder wall. My first reccurence had presented as low grade so I have continued with BCG (15 doses) They are not calling this procedure a TURBT and I get the impression that because the reccurence (which I saw at the flexi and looked more like a rash than individual raised growths) is multiple it may not be possible to remove them all at once. I realise that the biopsy results will be the most important factor in deciding but I just wondered if anyone else has had multiple TCC and what might be recommended as next steps?
Sending best wishes to my other comrades in the trenches who are also having procedures this week. Fingers crossed for us all. xxx
Morning H. TCC is the best to get rid of with surgery, so hopefully that is all you may need. Hoping everything goes well for you tomorrow. Best wishes.
Everything crossed that all goes well tomorrow Its a stressful time but it's good to be in the system and constantly monitored
Mr W had his 22nd bcg this morning and is currently in bed with a bad headache His usual first symptom I'm sure by this time tomorrow he will have bounced back
Sending lots of love and a big hug
Wilbert
Hi Herothedog
All the best for tomorrow, you will be in my thoughts x
I'm just back from my pre op.
I've had multiply tumours, is that the same? Over the years I've had as few as 2 to too many to count. They cut the bigger ones & burn or shave off the smaller dot like type that I have, but I'm sure you already know that. I was just trying to explain what my multiples are
Everything crossed, see you soon x
Sending commiserations to Mr W though in truth I would be delighted to be allowed to get to dose 22! Thanks for support W xxx
Thanks Blanket, this would be my first experience of shaving and/or burning but this time mine are also too many to count, so I think it might be what happens. Frankly since I will be in land of nod they can remove the nasty little stinkers any way they like.:) just take them away. I was more worried they might say there are too many to remove, so your experience gives me hope. xxx
Well my husband's first lot maybe 10 years ago were described as like a forest of seaweed, they scraped out the whole lot half apologising for it being 'more work than we quite expected' as the reason for forcing him to go home in bad agony next day complete with catheter and losing a lot of blood. But things are more kindly now. As they didn't say it was cancer or organise proper follow up there hasn't been any 'middle' to his tale. Suffice to say that his flexi last autumn revealed 'looks like a complete inside out cauliflower' in the owner's own description-but these too were all also soon removed at one TURBT go, much less pain and aggro, and with Mitomycin have now stayed clear for several months. BTW his flexi last Friday was all clear, so same again in 3 months. So I hope this encourages you numbers probably don't count, if you see what I mean. No-one's ever described the removal method in detail and frankly we haven't asked...
Best wishes for a speedy recovery,
Denby
