Hi everyone. We're new to the big C and husband and I both wonder whether he is still classed as having cancer now his tumour has been removed (a month ago) or if he doesn't have it any more? We're a bit confused. Your help would be amazing, thank you.
Hi and welcome to the community. At the time of the op, a biopsy would have been taken to determine a stage and grade of the tumour. He should have had a follow up consultation by now to discuss results, which you need to chase up. Unfortunately, the operation (TURBT) is not always the end of it. Usually, further treatment is needed. Everything depends on the biopsy results. Even if the op has removed everything, bladder cancer has a habit of recurring, but the good news is that we are monitored regularly just in case. Best wishes.
