Hi all I'm having a few issues at the moment and it's led me to be having a flexible Cystoscopy on Tuesday. I'm a 63 year old female. Any one here not found having one to painful. Thank you.
Hi and welcome to the community at what we know must be a worrying time for you. Many of us have been there. A flexible cystoscopy is painless. I have had many of them over the years. An anaesthetic gel is used first. From a mans point of view, slightly uncomfortable sometimes, but that's all. Done to preserve your dignity in the best way they can. When the camera is in, you can see for yourself on the screen and anything abnormal will be pointed out to you. If you have any questions please ask. Best wishes.
Hi lilli
i can only echo what rily has said. It really is a painless procedure. I’ve had several and for me the apprehension beforehand is probably the worst bit. I sometimes find it a bit uncomfortable when they clean you down below before putting in the anaesthetic gel but apart from that It’s fine.
All the best for Tuesday and remember to drink plenty of water afterwards!
Hi Lucy -1 Thank you so much for your reply. I will carry my water with me. Just be happy when it's all done and I can get to sort out what the problem is. Thanks again.
