Hi all had serveral tumours removed last September Ta grade 2 but prior to that was unable to pass urine properly for months .Since the op my bladder is still not emptying and i’ve got to self catheterise four times a day ,was wondering if anybody else has had these complications ? Last week i found out i’ve had a recurrance and waiting for a date to have another Turbt
Hi . Can't help with the self catheterising, sorry. Just to say that it is always helpful to give the urology waiting list office a ring to see if they have a date for your TURBT. They don't always treat follow ups as urgent and can sometimes leave you waiting. Best wishes.
Thank you Rily . I've got my pre-assessment next wednesday so hoping the TURBT won’t be to long after that
I self catheterise but because I've had bladder removed & have reconstruction ( neobladder ) which I can't fully empty otherwise. I've got used to doing it & don't mind at all.
Hope you get on OK with next TURBT.
Hi super girl.
Was wondering how you got on with the self catherterise, I had same problem of retention before TURBT in May and I've been told I need to catherterise 2 x week. But I have increased to 1 x day. As I was not emptying properly and in pain.
One tumour sits right at the neck of the bladder and I think this causes the blockage.
Hope all is going well , keeping positive.
Hi Mocking Bird sorry for the late reply , hope your doing ok i had to self catheterise 4-6 times a day after having both my TURBT ‘s due to retaining but unfortunately in my case it was due to the cancer in the Urethra . And had to go on to have a RC in April which Im now recovering well from . I found it quiet easy to self catheterise at first but it got more difficult as the tumour grew X
Hi Super girl, I have a date for RC in August 4 weeks time, I really don't know what to expect and I was wondering if you could share your experience with me.
Much appreciated mockingbird
