Hello fellow BCG’s.
Today I had my ‘BIG’ talk. Grade 1 but a high grade. Bladder removal not an option but I would not have agreed to it .BCG therapy starts middle of July. Whoopee! Just joking, and yet not. How lucky to be given a life line. But ………
I was told BCG only works for 70% of patients. I am not in the 30%. However, new treatments are popping up so who knows what the future may hold.
Hi Kenzie,
Hope your BCG journey goes with any issues.
Lot's of people complete the course, lot's don't but you only generally hear about the bad side effects on forum's of course.
I got too 18 instillations and don't regret doing the BCG treatments.
Keeping my finger's crossed for you also.
Trevor
The first 12 very little other than urgency and tiredness.
Tiredness mainly before I was up during the night weeing.
Started getting a little worse as things went on and then extreme bladder inflammation that caused a few issues and went on for a lot longer (months) so couldn't really function.
Don't let my experience put you off, nearly 4 year's since being diagnosed and no reoccurrence (touch wood)
Well that’s the important thing. Still clear after 2 amd a half years. We can suffer a bit discomfort (says she that has not been there yet ) for extended life. I hope in 2 and a half years time I am answering posts as you are. All the best and lots more years to you.
Kenzie
