Today I had my third dose of BCG. I felt like I had been hit by a steam roller.
a) Severe burning in urine with no blood but with occasional razor blades.
b) Pain in left loin on micturition, which is quite severe. I have had a Double J stent on left side which was removed 6 weeks ago.
c) Extreme lethargy and yawning. All attempts to nod off, failed leaving me tossing and turning.
d) Severe nausea, burping and diarrhoea.
e) Light headed feeling continues to a lesser extent.
I have been drinking barley water [2 litres a day].
For the first time in this BCG treatment, I was worried. But after about 6 hours, all symptoms vanished and I am now the way I was before. Is this how it happens. for everybody? I am a bit concerned about the left loin pain.
Hi Madmax,
Can't say I experienced what you've gone through, but sounds horrible for sure.
It wasn't until BCG 17/18 before my bladder got very inflamed and caused issues.
I should have had number 19 in September, but postponed.
BCG hasn't been a walk in the park for me, but sounds like you've been hit harder.
Hope future BCGs go well for you.
Trevor
Hi Madmax,
wow you’re going through it…I was fine until #15. Side effects was the usual, peeing ect…but they lasted me for around 2 months…plus it triggered my anxiety so I was struggling to be honest..hoping I’m able to cope with the next round in March…
hopefully your be ok after the next one…

Just had second dose yesterday. 1st dose was a breeze no ill effects in fact the day after I felt almost euphoric. Roll on a week and what a difference.
Possibly not helped by coming home and building a flatpack cupboard I spent the whole afternoon/evening back and forth to the toilet and peeing volcano like urine. Very uncomfortable still only another 4 to go in this round and I'm sure better than the alternative. But I feel your pain.
it’s not nice, feel totally wiped out this time, not sure what your pain is madmax but I’ve had stomach pain. Wish my symptoms went after 6 hours,
let’s hope it gets better for us all.
