New Year and more BCG

Hello and Happy New Year to all my fellow travellers!

As 2026 starts so has my next round of BCG. I had number 16 on Monday at 9am. The roads were awful with all the snow that had fallen so travelling to the hospital was horrible. I knew in advance that my lovely Nurse Ann is off for a few weeks so another nurse was doing the procedure and the consequence was that I was very anxious and slept very badly on Sunday night. My treatment was done in a new area and there was no room for my lovely Hubby to be with me Confused In the end the procedure was fine though and I managed to keep it in for 2 hours, but after that I had urgency and frequency for the rest of the day and felt absolutely washed out on Tuesday. I suppose it shows that the BCG is working and pushing my immune system. Still waiting for my CT results from November. Hopefully I'll get them next week when I go for my next BCG.

Hope everyone is well, sending much love to you all, Ade Heart️ xx

  • Hi Ade,

Good to hear that you've got number 16 under your belt and well done for doing the full 2 hours, I struggle with this.

It's funny how changes, like a new nurse can play on your mind and can up your anxiety, but glad it went well.

Hope you get your CT scan results back soon.

Wishing you all the best for numbers 17 and 18.

  • Hi Ade,Good that number 16 is done.I hope you get your CT results soon.Love Jane xx

  • Morning Ade, sending you loads of love , as I totally get what you experienced. I am the same when I go for mine if I know Lucy isnt in. The bond and trust is just so important, anything or anyone knew will keep me awake worrying. You have done 16 and well done you, I am sorry the side effects ramped up and left you washed out Ade. I ended up having a week off in between 16,17 & 18 to give the bladder a chance to calm down . Got through it in the end , so all good . Hope you scan results are back soon . Take care , keep in touch

    Much love Angela x

  • Happy New Year Ade, so good you were able to get your latest treatment. Yes the BCG will be hopefully working killing all those meanies in your bladder. When I was having my BCG treatment I always was reminded of the blue meanies in the Beatles Yellow Submarine film. Silly I know but it kept me going during the first uncomfortable 24 hours after the treatment. Snow disappeared here but very windy and cold 3 degrees.storm coming tonight apparently. I have got golf withdrawal syndrome course closed again today. Stay well

  • Glad you got the next round out of the way Ade, snow is always fun isn't it

Sorry you were anxious and didn't sleep well, I'm having my first ethrubacin today I'm at the hospital as I type this and didn't get a lot of sleep due to work last night so I know that feeling only too well.

    Fingers crossed that things improve.
