  • Hi Ste. Good to know you are doing well but it must be worrying waiting on your wife's results. I hope it turns out to be nothing sinister. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • The stats do say 1 in 2 people will get cancer - plus we're all of an age where it becomes more common. It feels almost a rarity to find someone who hasn't had a diagnosis. Thankfully more are surviving too. Hope all will be oK for your wife.

  • Thank you both for your words of support pretty gobsmacked with all but aren’t the first couple to both have a situation like this and I doubt we will be the last it is a bit different for us bladder cancer patients they tend not exercise caution when they first find I was told on the day before I’d even had any pathology it was more than likely cancer as a tumour in the the bladder is 9 times out of 10 a form of cancer and the pathology is just to determine which one it is

  • Even from a flexi cystoscopy they can be fairly sure what it is, the TURBT is then to remove the tissue for biopsy to assess stage and grade. This will determine most appropriate treatment. BC tends to recur, so treatment is aimed at preventing recurrence (& progression). The good news is that BC is very treatable, as we are all here to testify!

  • The wife has had her lesion on her foot checked at the dermatology unit today they are confident it’s benign but are doing a punch biopsy in a couple of weeks just to draw a line under things so a good result

  • Good news Ste, really happy for you. It is such a relief for you both. Its good you dont have to wait too long to have the bx done and as you say draw a line under it. Take care x
