hope you are all keeping well and happy things are going as well as they can be for you all so those of you I interact with regular will know of my journey and fot those that don’t diagnosed February 2024 2 turbts showing a pta g2 pathology after first TURBT and a Benign pathology after the second TURBT onto surveillance I went following this and all good so far so since my journey started I have had a friend and old work colleague be diagnosed going through treatment at the moment I’ve also had a current colleague have a close family member of his diagnosed both bladder cancer by the way in these two guys now to the cut that cut deeper than even my own diagnosis did my lovely wife has just had a two week referral and got her appointment Saturday coming our GP suspects squamous cell carcinoma of the skin she has had a small rash like lesion on her foot for a while and finally went to get it looked at and this now where we are seeing and hearing more and more people with suspected or confirmed cancer diagnosis’s it certainly is the wider you open your eyes the more you see hopefully Saturday goes fantasticly well for her and it’s nothing to worry about

Thank you both for your words of support pretty gobsmacked with all but aren’t the first couple to both have a situation like this and I doubt we will be the last it is a bit different for us bladder cancer patients they tend not exercise caution when they first find I was told on the day before I’d even had any pathology it was more than likely cancer as a tumour in the the bladder is 9 times out of 10 a form of cancer and the pathology is just to determine which one it is

Even from a flexi cystoscopy they can be fairly sure what it is, the TURBT is then to remove the tissue for biopsy to assess stage and grade. This will determine most appropriate treatment. BC tends to recur, so treatment is aimed at preventing recurrence (& progression). The good news is that BC is very treatable, as we are all here to testify!
