A bit of history: I was diagnosed with bladder CIS and prostate cancer back in September. Started hormone therapy to keep the PC in check and BCG for the bladder cancer. A fortnight ago I had a rigid blue light cystoscopy, after which the consultant told me the the CIS seemed to have spread and that multiple biopsies were taken. I've been steeling myself for the meeting with the CNS, which took place this morning. It appears that the CIS is totally gone, Lots of scarring to the bladder from the BCG but not a trace of CIS from the biopsies.
Plan now is to have a prostatectomy and stop the hormone therapy. Continuing with BCG is, apparently, optional. So, bottom line is that I now have one cancer, not two. To say that my wife and I are relieved would be an understatement.
If you'll excuse me, I'll take a break from this forum for a time while I get the PC sorted out.
Hi Steve75794 . Great news on the BC front. I hope all goes well with the prostate. Take care. Best wishes.
Thanks rily, and good luck to everyone, especially to those less fortunate than me.
