Tumour removal

Hi, If I were you I would contact the surgeon’s secretary and ask what happens next as you have heard nothing. Do you know if they did a biopsy when they removed the tumour? They could be waiting on the results, if you had one.

My husband had tumours removed from his bladder on 19/12/24 and we only got the biopsy results at the end of last week. Most of the labs have a backlog after being closed or taking emergencies only during the Festive Season so results are taking a bit longer. However I would still phone to make sure that is why the delay Good Luck

Anndanv is right it can take a few weeks for a biopsy to come through, I think I waited for about 2 weeks. I know it's an anxious time when waiting  on results. Hopefully they will determine the next stage for you and what other treatment you require if any.

Hi Podperson,Welcome to this friendly group.It’s not easy waiting for results or to find out the next stage.It is common to have a second TURBT procedure a few weeks after the first.It’s usual to get a scan of some sort too.The results of the biopsies and scan will give the team an idea of what treatment you will need.Once you have a treatment plan things become easier.There is a lot of advice and experience here so ask any questions.We are all here to support you through.Best wishes Jane
