Hello all

  • P.s it’s only been an hour since my two hours were up..

  • maybe just turn the taps on , hearing the running water may just help, and try to relax , you may be just very tense anticipating the next 6 hrs of bleaching , urgency, discomfort, pain. Do you take anything for the pain Nigel ?

  • I've not had BCG and have a Foley urethral catheter so I'm cheating!  I have heard that gazing at water flowing from a tap can help. Sensitivity tends to have the bods in your brain's effluent department busy applying brakes and holding valves closed. Anything that relaxes or distracts them may help, even lying down to reduce the pressure on your release mechanism is worth a try.

  • Hi Angela, there’s no pain so I’m grateful for that…I think I’m trying to rush it…it will happen when it happens, I’ve had pain killers…

p.s felxi in February then start again in a couple of weeks after…all being well….

  • Cheers Ray, I’ll give it ago…you would think I would be used to it by now…hahaha

  • Angela, Mrs Nigel asked about the coffee. Our CNS told us that coffee isn’t bad in regards the treatment but it does irritate the bladder…advised me to switch to de cafe if I can…

so de cafe it is now…..how’s you?

  • were you thinking about chelsea when you wrote flexi lol !

  • the coffee thing is useful to know , i do worry a little about the side effects in the future , so will try anything that will help my lovely bladder . Hope the flood gates open soon for you. Actually Nigel before i go for my BCG the nurse says to not drink for an hour or so ( not specified the time ) and to not start drinking until the bcg has been in my bladder for an hour . Have you had any instructions like that? I get the feeling that these protocols  arent the same throughout the nhs and maybe they should be standardised. What do you think ?

  • 100% agree Angela, I was told at one of my  BCG that it was ok to have breakfast before I got there…including a coffee….

i have the same routine now, painkillers before I go. I only drink water with medication, go for the treatment, drink after the two hours and try to drink as much as I can…im not sure weather it was you or Ray that said you need to relax…it’s helping…

    I know it’s only for a day or two…

    love to all Nigel xx

  • lol, no it’s just bad spelling hahahah…

im really going off football very quickly….hahaha
