Now had 2nd infusion into my bladder more or less side effects as. First one. First 2/3 days are not brilliant but managing with painkillers. For some reason today I had a melt down and felt tearful yesterday I felt tired all day. Hopefully will feel better tomorrow. Be glad when the next four treatments are done and I have six weeks break.
Hi Odin . I've not had BCG, but I know how this thing in general can have various effects on our health. There are days when things tend to catch up on you and we have a bit of a meltdown. Good luck with your next treatments and then the break should do you good. Best wishes.
Hang in there and be as kind and understanding to yourself as you can be.
Personally, I'm on No. 4 of my first 6, with No. 5 set for Friday.
Dealing with the sides, the emotions, the questions ... it's not easy. I come here, I talk to kind family and friends, I try to remember ... "Hey, I've got cancer and I'm not Superman. It's OK to be tired, it's OK to be down."
I wish I had advice besides get all the rest you can, hydrate and treat yourself well, but it's about all I've been able to figure out.
In any case, glad you're here with us.
Hi Elaine, I think its ok to have a melt down, they may not feel good but something we need to do . Your 2nd BCG done and although you are having side effects, you did it and got through it. The 6 week induction is tough ,by the time you get to the last one you will probably hate it. Then you will get a break and life will get some normality back . The tiredness is hard to deal with especially if you are a busy doer , with lots of things to do. It will pass , we just need to look after one another getting through it . sending you a big hug and hoping you feel a bit better tomorrow x
Much love Angela x
Good morning Odin, Sorry to hear you are having a difficult time with your BCG Installations. My intrusion in your body, any procedure can have side effects. I know I have said this before but I envisage the BCG live bacteria is seeking out and attacking the meanies in your bladder. You will get through this tiring and painful experience. I have had 15 instillations with one or two difficult days. Look forward to feeling better soon. Have a reward. H swears by cake or try a treat of your choice. I used to lose myself in golf, Friday curry and IPA. Good luck! Garviv
You are a great help Angela and all the others. You are right I am a doer and it doesn’t”t sit well being like this. Fortunately I have a good husband who is doing the stuff I can’t for now plus at 77 it has not been what I needed. I think also it has just hit me what’s happenned. Dont feel quite as bad today but it’s the lethargic feeling that ia annoying me. Plus getting up every hour in the night to go to the loo do sent help but on a positive note it keeps me fit doing all that going to and fro. Tx to all on here your posts are helping so much.
