Hi everyone, my husband has had a third of his bladder taken away as the tumour in his bladder was quite large, they also found some hotspots on his liver and there's a spread to some lymph nodes on his c.t scan.he spoke with his consultant today and he said they will probably start with some radiotherapy in a couple of weeks but I've always thought you could only have radiotherapy once? He's had a course of radiotherapy on his prostate about 8 years ago.me and my daughter have asked to meet with his consultant on Monday.just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. Thankyou.
Hi Positivity2000 . I'm with you thinking you can only have pelvic radiotherapy once, but maybe not if they are considering it. I believe the radio machines have improved considerably since I had had mine years ago, so hopefully they may now be more target specific. I hope you get some information on Monday. Best wishes.
Hi Positivity 2000, I had radiotherapy for prostate cancer in 2011 (37 x 2Gys).
I was diagnosed with muscle invasive bladder cancer in October 2022.
I asked for radiotherapy and was told no, too risky, due to radiotherapy applied to the pelvic area.
Hope your husband can, and many more.
All the best with his treatment.
