Like Rily my husband got an all clear yesterday and will move to annual checks next year if he continues to be clear. He was diagnosed in Jan 2018 with muscle invasive bladder cancer and CIS.
This forum and the Macmillan nurses have been with us every step of the way. He refused major surgery as proposed by the surgeon who broke the news to us. Chemo radiation and BCG treatment followed and so far he's NED.
Among so many other issues one major one is that he's very private about his health, not even wanting to tell our adult son. I find my anxiety lessens when I talk with others. So this site allows me to seek information and share where appropriate without going against my husband's wishes.
The Macmillan nurses explained results, pushed for appointments and have been so supportive to us both throughout. I will be attending a Macmillan coffee morning tomorrow and I just wanted to express my gratitude to you all for helping us get through this difficult time.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
