I'm just feeling very down.
I have only had 2 BCG sessions and already had loads of side effects and feel I may have a UTI already from them as in sooo much pain.
After first BCG, bladder pain every day (worse the first few days), and heavy leg with pins and needles in my foot and toes continuous for over 24 hours. Phoned the hospital BCG people who told me to contact my GP. Contacted my GP who said no appointments available and referred me to my local urgent treatment centre at my local hospital who diagnosed me with peripheral neuropathy (for the leg stuff) and gave me medication to treat this (gabapentin). Updated my urology people to tell them who said it wasn't related to my BCG. Really??? Just complete coincidence that it started within hours of my first BCG installation when never had it before (57, female, otherwise healthish). Continued with 2nd BCG installation earlier this week and still in lots of bladder pain plus bad pain in my right kidney which is also sooo sore if I even just touch the skin gently. Will have to phone up tomorrow morning and do battle with my GP to get tested for a UTI and then a further battle for antibiotics...which they always seem very reluctant to prescribe. Soooo fed up. Just want to be taken seriously and my symptoms properly managed with respect.
