Hi been a wee while since I've wrote, hope this finds everyone I've spoke with all doing well

I just finished 4 weeks Radiotherapy 3 weeks past Friday, and I am still requiring to go to toilet approximately every hour to pee. I know this is part of the recovery but has anyone any idea when it will ease,  as I'm virtually housebound at present. Many thanks in Advance

Scott

  • Hi Scotvip, good to hear from you and glad you have finished your Radiotherapy. I dont have any experience of this, but I know there are some on the forum that have. I am sure they will be able to help. Take care

  •  . Hi Scott. Good to know your treatment has finished. I know how tiring those daily trips are. It took me about 4-6 weeks for the frequency to gradually subside. It may sound like a contradiction in the circumstances but it is important to drink plenty of water. This helps subdue the inflammation. Some people with frequent urination fall in to trap of not drinking, thinking it will help. Not drinking has an adverse effect on the bladder. Urine becomes acidic and irritates the bladder causing the feeling of needing to go all the time. Drinking helps with this and the pees become longer and more satisfying. Always worth while checking for any infection as well. I hope you feel better soon. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hello Scotvip, really sound advice from Rily as usual.I did not have any major problems with Chemotherapy or Radiotherapy. My Achilles heel was/is BCG. I was advised to avoid coffee or fizzy drinks after 4pm. Might be worth checking it out. Garviv
