Hi all, sorry to start another thread but I can’t find any info about the issue I have. Or might not have ;)
It’s been a week since my TURBT, and I don’t seem to have any blood in my urine - but it still really hurts my penis when I urinate, and there’s blood at the start and sometimes at the end of the process. I’ve had to wear incontinence pads to stop staining my underpants with blood that’s leaking out. I’m pretty sure it’s from my urethra rather than in my urine because of how it’s there at the start and end of weeing, rather than pink, blood-tinged wee if that makes sense?
Anyway, I just wanted to know if anyone else had any experience of this, and if it’s just a normal part of the healing process? I wasn’t expecting it to still be quite so painful to pass urine this far past the procedure, and I would have hoped that any trauma to my urethra would have healed by now. I’m happy to call my GP or 111 or whoever I need to, but before that step I just wanted to check with you wonderful bunch to see if I’m overreacting to something perfectly normal :)
Thanks in advance and keep on smiling!

Hi Matt
I had the pain as I started to urinate and as I finished it was very painful for the first two weeks after my turbt (12 June ) it has gradually reduced to a mild discomfort now I had rosé coloured urine until the scab started to break up then I started to pass a lot of blood and clots which totally freaked me out I rang my specialist nurse who explained this was normal the blood and the pain were from the bladder contracting and expanding and to keep drinking a lot of lemon barley the last blood I have passed which was hardly anything was early last week it is such a strange feeling because the pain is not where I expected it I did have some leaks that were bloody for a couple of weeks
best wishes nigel
Hello Matt
I had something similar after my 2nd TURBT and occasionally get the 'bleeding but no rosé ' effect on my plumbing after a catheter change. If the associated pain becomes extreme and/or you feel unwell (maybe with a bit of a temperature), then you should use the GP or 111 option without delay in case there's an infection. It may be wise to do that anyway for some reassurance. I hope you feel better soon.
