Hi all

This afternoon is my first cystoscopy 3 months after finishing my 6 weeks of Mitomycin treatment. Was originally graded at G2pTa, G2 mainly because of size (4cm). I know there is a strong possibility of recurrence but I'm naturally getting pretty anxious now.

  • Hi Bicyclegirl, hope your cystoscopy went ok and you’ve got a bit more information from it. I had the same diagnosis as you (G2pta) a year ago. I finished my 6 weeks of Mitomycin just before Xmas and was actually desperate for my next cystoscopy but ended up waiting for 6 months for it, which came at the end of June. I was told I had a recurrence of a 5mm papillary tumour which they can hopefully rid of with laser treatment (TULA), nearly 4 wks on and I’m still waiting for a date. It’s always an anxious time waiting for more info, it’s their decisions that controls our bodies.!!

    Good luck and best wishes

  • Hi Julia

    Thank you for your reply

As I suspected,  the nurse said I had a small  ~2mm papillary tumour. She said she wished she could just blast it there and then but they don't do that at my hospital yet. She made a comment about several small diverticulum but didn't seem concerned about them. Said I'll have another TURBT in about a month.

  • Hi Jane, I had 2 TURBT’s too but luckily my hospital has just started doing the laser blasting, so it’s done just like a normal Cystoscopy, no GA to get over etc. Thumbsup

at least you’ll know what to expect for the next one… just another step on our journey.

    Best wishes
