guys im really anxious at the moment I really wanna know the truth of this my wife she’s pregnant of our first child I just got married last year too

  • Hi  and welcome to the group, although sorry to hear of your concerns. We are not medics here and so unable to translate your report accurately. The best way of diagnosing cancer would be by a biopsy which your urologist may go for. In some cases it is watch and wait where they would leave it or a while and then take another look to see if things have changed. If it does turn out to be cancer, then be aware that it can be treated successfully. It is understandable you are worried but these things progress very slowly. It may be worth while contacting your urology secretary to try and bring your appointment forward for peace of mind. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Julian29, why not have a chat with the Macmillan helpline, the number is at the bottom of the page if you scroll down.

Lateral just means at the side, so that's just describing where the spots are. A lesion is just anything that possibly shouldn't be there, be it a spot, lump, tag, or hole-type thing like an ulcer. Nil means no. Hope that's decoded some of it for you.

As rily says, try not to worry as bladder cancer is mostly extremely treatable, and the great thing is it's been caught, if it is actually anything cancerous, while small.

best to you both and congrats on the baby

  • Hi Julian29,It is possible to have lesions that are non cancerous.Sometimes infections can cause a bit of inflammation that can show up as red areasUrologists can usually  recognise if a area looks cancerous so you will get a biopsy if they are at all concerned.Best wishes Jane
