Possibly one of last things on someone’s mind when going through this but….. I love my job, it mainly consists of brews and banter!! Assuming there are no complications does anyone know recommend rest time before cracking on?
Robbo if you don’t lift anything heavy (over 10KG) you should be ok in 1-2 weeks. However you may need to have access to the loo more frequently. Post operation infections can happen too, fairly common, in which case you may need antibiotics for the waterworks. I used liners in my pants for a couple of weeks, just in case. You can buy lightweight ones on Amazon.

Hi Robbo,I’d avoid lifting anything heavy for 4-6 weeks.I had a haemorrhage exactly a month after a TURBT once after moving heavy boxes.I used to take it easy for a 2 or 3 days and then was back to work caring for my disabled mum.I tried to avoid doing too much bending or stretching while things healed.Jane x
As said by others, don't lift anything heavy for a few weeks to give it chance to heal.
Regarding when to go back to work, it depends what your job involves. If office type work with little lifting etc., maybe a coup[le of weeks, but longer if manual work.
With TURBT, it can take a while to get back to normal. If you are a chap like me, it might be uncomfortable for ~6 weeks afterwards, which is where I was with the first 2 TURBT's, but on the last one, back to normal in 3 days. You will also likely pass some scabs from the TURBT ~4-6 weeks after the op, which is normal. There are pads for chaps as well as ladies these days if you have an urgency issue.
Recovery can also depend on how you cope with the anaesthetic. I get quite a woozy head & needed a full 2 weeks off work. That's apart from the initial frequent & painful urination. Amazon possibly not the best place to buy pads - often cheaper & good selection of options from a specialist incontinence supplier online. (I use ageuk ) Hope all goes well for you.
Thanks that’s a great shout with the pads, I will probably pinch some of my father in laws as he has a substantial supply! Can’t wait to tell my guys at work all about this, they are all ex military and am sure we will have a great laugh at my expense!!
